Useful guide thank you, I am quite inexperienced with getting good sound to go with my video, I'm considering finding a short course in sound design or music technology.

Hey man, the Flip doesn't have an audio in jack so you are not going to be able to use an external microphone. Check out the Kodak Zi8 which has an audio in jack. It has kind of become the darling of the flash video world.

So I do most of my video shooting with a Flip Mino HD. In a few situations, the mike is good to go. However, in 80% of cases, it sucks. :) My question is, if I buy a mike for it, do I just plug it into the camera? I assume it will take an external mike.
